Candlelighters is a local, not-for-profit organization that provides programs and services to young cancer patients, and their families,  receiving treatment in the National Capital Region.

Is to ensure that 100% of children and teens diagnosed with cancer get the support they need!

OUR MISSION

To enrich the lives of children, and their families, coping with childhood cancer and to promote awareness and understanding of the impact of childhood cancer on their lives.


Each year approximately 65 children will be diagnosed with cancer & 125 children are currently receiving cancer treatments in the National Capital Region. Please join us in making a difference in the lives of children with cancer and their families. Your $25 Donation: Sends 'Birthday Greetings' to a child with cancer. Candlelighters help celebrate their special day.

Your $40 Donation: Provides Courage Beads to child with cancer. Courage Beads help young cancer patients document their story of courage through beads representing every poke, procedure & treatment.

Your $100 Donation: Provides a family with a Gas Card voucher to help with frequent hospital trips when a child is newly diagnosed with cancer.

Your $50 Donation: Helps support siblings of childhood cancer patients. Candlelighters recognizes childhood cancer impacts every member of a family - brothers, and sisters too.

Your $150 Donation: Provides support for a survivor of childhood cancer. Survivorship is often the longest part of the childhood cancer journey. Candlelighters is there to support their ongoing needs.

Your $90 Donation: Provides a family with a Parking Pass for a month. Candlelighters covers costs associated with parents parking while accessing childhood cancer care in Ottawa or when travelling.
